Zuerst einmal stand in den Vormittag- und Nachmittagsstunden das Sportgeschehen im Fokus. Die Handballer kämpften beim legendären „Er & Sie-Turnier“ im Ortsteil Heufeld (Turnhalle der Schule) um die Volksfest-Trophäe. Dann spielten die Tischtennisler bei ihrem internationalen Volksfest-Turnier in der Bruckmühler Schulturnhalle um Spiel, Satz und Sieg.

Am späten Nachmittag trudelten dann schon wieder die ersten Wiesn-Freunde auf dem Volksfestareal ein. In den Folgestunden herrschte auf der Bruckmühler Wiesn der reine Ausnahmezustand. Um 19.37 Uhr war das Festzelt rappelvoll, auf dem 500 Quadratmeter großen Biergarten gab es ab 19.53 Uhr nur noch Stehplätze wie in einer voll besetzten Trammbahn. So wurde ab 20.25 Uhr der großflächige Bereich rund um den Haupteingang kurzer Hand in eine riesige Open-Air-Theke umfunktioniert während auf dem Vergnügungsareal dichtes Gedränge herrschte. Währenddessen sorgte die Großkarolinenfelder Musi mit fetzigen Rhythmen im Zelttempel für zusätzliche Hitzewerte. Ab 20.49 Uhr hatten die verschiedenen Bars der Sparten einen Großansturm zu bewältigen, den das freundliche Barpersonal aber mit Gelassenheit bewältigte.

Nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit wurde das große Brillant Feuerwerk (ursprünglich für Dienstag geplant) nachgeholt und abgefeuert. Peter König hatte für das diesjährige Volksfest wieder eine besondere Farbenchoreographie zusammengestellt. Nach dem Motto „Höher, Schöner, Größer“ wurden gut 600 Kugel- und Zylinderbomben mit einem Durchmesser von bis zu 12,5 Zentimeter bis zu 150 Meter hoch in den Himmel gefeuert. Die Explosivmasse umfasste gut 150 Kilogramm.

Das knapp zehnminütige Feuerwerk verzauberte mit flott und farbenprächtig aufeinander abgestimmten Feuersalven den Himmel über dem Volksfestgelände in ein wahres Farbenmeer. Um 23.26 Uhr legten dann die knapp 30 Bedienungen nach dem Großkampftag sichtlich geschafft die Füße auf die Bänke.

Der letzte Wiesn-Sonntag startete dann entspannter mit dem traditionellen Frühschoppen und anschließendem Mittagstisch mit der „Blaskapelle Bruckmühl“ eingeläutet. Die „Musikkapelle Vagen“ blies am Abend zum großen Wiesn-Endspurt. Parallel dazu ermitteln die Torwandschützen im Finale „der Besten“ die Gewinner. Wer es etwas ruhiger haben wollte, genoss die letzten Wiesn-Stunden im Volksfest-Biergarten unter dem Maibaum.
