Die Volleyballer des SV Bruckmühl veranstalteten bereits zum 31. Mal das beliebte „internationale“ Volksfest-Turnier für Mixed-Mannschaften. An diesem „Wiesen-Sportspektakel“ im doppelten Wortsinn beteiligten sich zwölf Teams. Viele waren bereits am Tag vor Turnierbeginn angereist und hatten in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Volksfestplatz eine kleine Zelt- und Caravan-Meile errichtet.

Wie beliebt dieser kleine Sportevent ist, beweist die Tatsache, dass das Team aus Bochum, „Tief im Westen“, bereits zum 25. Mal mit von der Partie war. Die Gäste aus dem Ruhrpott bekamen zu diesem Anlass ein schönes Jubiläumsgeschenk. Die 101 Akteure aus ganz Deutschland, dem angrenzenden Österreich und Baden-Württemberg brannten dann an den beiden Tagen auf der nördlichen Volksfestwiese ein großes sportliches Freiluftspektakel ab. Dabei konnte sich der Bruckmühler Moritz als jüngste Spieler mit seinen „zwölf Lenzen“ gegen so kampferprobte alte Recken um die „Mitte 50“ mit einer Größe von 1,97 Meter und einem Kampfgewicht von bis zu 105 Kilogramm gut behaupten. In 48 Spielen wurden 120 Sätze und 4661 Punkte gespielt. Dabei herrschte auf dem gesamten Sportareal eine entspannte und vor allem freundschaftliche Atmosphäre. Für zusätzliche lockere Stimmung sorgten Beach-Musik-Rhythmen und nicht ganz ernst gemeinte Sprüche und Ansagen von „Stadionsprecher Udo“.

Am Finalsonntag fanden die viel beklatschten Platzierungsspiele statt. Mit großem „Hallo“ und lautem „Oje“ wurden von den zuschauenden Teams und den Zuschauern gelungene oder verschlagene Bälle begleitet. Auf einem großen medialen Bildschirm wurden die Spielerinnen und Spieler ständig über den aktuellen Turnierverlauf informiert. Ein Volleyball-Schmankerl mit packenden Ballwechseln auf beeindruckend hohen spielerischen Niveau boten die Finalisten aus Bruckmühl, Team „Auf Feld 1“, und der Mannschaft „Gib dem Luder richtig Puder“ aus Baden-Württemberg.
Die Lokalmatadore aus dem Mangfalltal verwiesen in einem packenden Final-Fight nicht nur ihre Kontrahenten auf den Silber-Rang, sondern konnten dadurch auch den Titel aus dem letzten Jahr erfolgreich verteidigen. Den Bronze-Rang ergatterte das Team "Austria" (bereits siebte Teilnahme). Auf den undankbaren 4. "Blech-Platz" landeten wie im vergangenen Jahr „de Anderen“ aus Helfendorf, der aber nicht minder enthusiastisch gefeiert wurde. Um dem olympischen Gedanken Rechnung zu tragen erhielten alle Teams den selben Preis. Sparten-Volleyball Vorstand Thomas Günzel zog am Ende der packenden Turniertage ein mehr als zufriedenes Fazit: „Sommer, Sonne, Wiesn-Volleyball – was will man mehr“. In das gleiche Horn stießen alle Teilnehmer: "Tolle Organisation, harmonisches Miteinander und ein Mords-Spaß, immer wieder gerne".
